Boshers Allotment and Gardeners Association are presenting a free talk by Barry Newman NDH, FNVS from the National Vegetable Society, Tuesday 22nd March, 7.30pm.
To be held at Manor Farm Day Centre, Manor Farm Lane (Behind St Johns Church), Egham.
A Year on the Allotment
A talk by Barry Newman NDH, FNVS from the National Vegetable Society. Barry Newman is a well know grower, exhibitor, lecturer and judge is coming to Egham to talk about the allotment year. Barry is the Chairman of the Southern region of the National Vegetable Society and is very very knowledgeable and a highly respected horticulturist.
This will be a great opportunity to hear from an expert about best practice techniques and get some hints and tips about how to manage an allotment. Whether you are a new or an experienced allotment holder or just interested in growing, come along and get your questions answered.

Boshers Allotment and Gardeners Association will be holding a Seed Swap on Easter Saturday 3rd April, 10am to 12 midday.
To be held at the allotment shop in Whitehall Lane, Egham.
Come along and if you have any extra seeds that you are not going to use, bring them along to swap. Seeds must be in date, and can be saved seed, part packets or full packets. If you haven't anything to swap come along anyway, there may be seeds you would like to have for a small donation. Light refreshments will be available.

This is a self managed site which is run by the Boshers Allotment Association. They have 122 plots. There are also a 9 raised beds suitable for use by the disabled.
On site there is a small shop selling gardening tools and equipment to members, a picnic area, a toilet and parking spaces. There are water tanks across the site and the site remains a hose pipe free area other than in the disabled areas. Free horse manure is also provided.
The rent is currently £32 for a 125m2 (5 rod) plot and over 65 group only pay £22. The cost of raised beds is £5 per year. There is an annual membership fee of £2.50 to join Boshers Allotments.
