The Runnymede in Bloom Competition is organised by Runnymede Borough Council and this will be the 12th successive year that the competition has been held. This year, for the second time, a local garden centre, Squires in Holloway Hill, Chertsey, is supporting the competition.

The competition is aimed at the visual impact and adding colour to the Borough, rather than the technical emphasis that most gardening competitions have.

There will be nine judging categories including:-

• Allotments
• Business/Pub Garden
• Communal Garden Scheme
• Overall Front/Rear Garden
• Residential Front Garden
• School Garden (Amateur)
• School Garden (Professional)
• Senior Citizen Front Garden
• Sponsored Roundabouts

The prizes in each category are garden centre vouchers to the value of £50 for first prize, £25 for second prize and £15 for third prize.
