There will be no green garden waste collection service on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August, but, like the refuse collection service, we will be operating on a catch-up basis.  Bags which are normally emptied on Monday will be collected on Tuesday.

Those residents who normally have a collection on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, should still put their bags out on their normal day by 6.30am, as they may be emptied on the normal collection day or one day later at the most.

Since February 2007 residents of Runnymede Borough Council have been prohibited from disposing of their green garden waste in their wheelie bins.

Options for the disposal of green waste are:-

1. Compost as much of your garden waste as you can.  Phone Recyclenow on 0845 077 0757 for information on bargain priced composters, or visit their website on www.recyclenow.com/compost for further details.
   
2. Take your green garden waste to one of the local Community Recycling Centres.  The two closest sites are in Lyne Lane Lyne, Chertsey, KT16 0RA and  Martyrs Lane, Woking, GU21 5NJ.

   Weekends from 9.00 am to 4.15 pm

   Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day
   
3. Save yourself the bother of taking your waste to the Recycling Centres, waiting in queues, cleaning the car afterwards, by subscribing to Runnymede Borough Council's green waste collection scheme.  It costs £20 for one bag per annum, £35 for two bags and £40 for three, and collections are made fortnightly throughout the year.
