Once the Council is approached by a group or an individual requesting that they would like to form a recognised Tenants and Residents Association they can expect the following from the Council:
1. An application form to become a recognised Tenants’ Group.
2. A copy of the Required Criteria
3. Examples of constitutions that are currently recognised to assist in the formulation of your own.
4. A copy of a local compact.
5. Contact details (if the tenants have given authority for this purpose) of other recognised groups so that they can be contacted for advice and help on how they set up.
6. A copy of the Funding Guidelines.
7. Start Up Grant which will form part of the Annual Funding from the date of being recognised.
8. An interview or meeting with a staff member to go over the above and explain in detail what this means.
9. Further advice and assistance on helping to set up a tenants group.
