Biography: 

Derek is retired, after a 35 year career in television and film production.

He is active throughout the local community as a charity worker, events organizer and is a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Chertsey. He is a member of St Peter's church and previous churchwarden.

He has represented the locality as Chairman of the area Flood Forum since 2003 and was elected to the council in 2007.

Derek is married with two children and three lively grandchildren.

He has a simple rationale, "I've been very fortunate throughout my life and I believe in giving something back. I think the Rotary motto of Service before Self says everything I aspire to in Public Life. I really enjoy living in the borough and am deeply committed to improving the quality of life for everyone in Runnymede."
