Biography: Anthony Ridge-Newman was elected as a ward councillor for Virginia Water on 4th June, 2009.  He now serves on the Economic Development, Housing and Community Services and Cabrera Trust committees.
 
He believes in community, in the sense that we should all be working together, aside from our political, religious and cultural differences, towards a fairer and more responsible society.
 
Anthony is currently conducting his doctoral research at Royal Holloway, University of London, in internet democracy, and is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
 
One of Anthony's aims is to get more young people interested in their democratic rights through new technologies like the internet.  Therefore, one of the ways he plans to communicate with local resident is through his website and blog.
