Planning Portal Homepage

The Planning Portal is an on-line resource for planning information and services set up to help anyone who wants to know more about the planning process in England and Wales.

Planning Guide

The Guide section provides a brief introduction to the planning system and some explanation of why planning controls are important and necessary. It includes general guidance about the kinds of work for which you need to apply for planning permission and those for which you do not. It is intended for both householders and business people.

Planning Applications

In the Apply Section you can create electronic applications for Runnymede Borough Council District Council and submit them on-line.

To use this service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and create a User Name and Password.

You can also use the Portal's on-line applications service to purchase a site location plan to accompany your application.

If you submit a plan using the Planning Portal, please note the reference number and application number before returning to the Homepage of Runnymede Online to make an online payment.

Appeals

The Appeals section provides information and guidance on the Appeals process. If you seek permission to carry out works to your property and your application isn't decided within a set period, or you get a decision from your local council that you disagree with, you have a right to appeal.

Study section

The Study section is designed to help people to teach or learn about town and country planning. It is a useful resource for teachers and students of Planning and those considering or pursuing a career in town and country planning.

Research

The Research section of the Portal is aimed at planning professionals and those with an in-depth interest in planning policy and reform. You can obtain information on many issues including the Government's Planning Reform Programme, Parliamentary answers and statements on planning matters and you can view copies of Planning Policy.

Visit the Planning Policy section to find a range of planning policy documents including the Local Plan and Supplementary Planning Guidance.

The Borough Profile contains location maps and a range of statistical and textual information about the Borough.

The Contacts page provides a list of contacts in the Council's planning division who can assist with more detailed enquiries.

In the Useful Links section you will find links to the websites of a range of planning related organisations.

Local Development Framework - an LDF is a set of documents that sets out a long-term vision for an area and a strategy for achieving the vision.

The High Hedges section provides some general guidance to this new legislation and a guide to the complaints procedure.

The Impact Assessment web site - Impact assessment is the application of a group of procedures to ensure that the implications of any decisions are taken into account before the decisions are made. Runnymede Borough Council uses these procedures to consider its own and other impacts on the sustainable development objectives of the Borough.
