OUR AIM

Runnymede Local Land Charges section aims to provide a prompt and accurate service both in reply to applications to search the Local Land Charges Register, and to Additional Enquiries of the Authority.

Upon receipt of a valid request we will endeavour to return the completed search within 2-3 working days.

We are constantly aiming to improve our service to you and would welcome your comments/suggestions, please feel free to email us on land.charges@runnymede.gov.uk.

Can anyone else offer ALL of these services?

1. All Searches come with the statutory protection under the Land Charges Act.
2. All Searches will be carried out by a dedicated and fully experienced Land Charges team, who offer an efficient, friendly and reliable service.
3. Turn round time usually between 2-3 working days.
4. Free E Mail service available - email your requests to land.charges@runnymede.gov.uk. We can take your payment via Debit/Credit Card over the phone or you can send a cheque.
5. Urgent Searches - we can return searches within 24 hours for an expedition fee of £35.
6. Free Update Service for Official Searches on request; a letter will be sent recording any changes subject to the following conditions:
   - Residential properties only
   - Same applicant and requirements as original search
   - Same area as original search
   - Only ONE free update per residential search (LLC1 & CON29R) within 6 months of original request.
7. Any one Optional Enquiry free upon request with every LLC1 & CON29R Search

If you can keep repeating business with us you will benefit from a discounted fee of £225.00 (usual fee £245.00) for standard residential searches

If you are likely to submit 5 or more official searches (LLC1 & CON29R) to us in the next 6 months, please email us with the details requested below. You will then qualify for our regular user discounted fee of £225.00 per search.

Since we operate a computerised system which holds geographical (map-based) data, it is important that the full postal address is given on search submissions together with two up-to-date Land Registry Title Plans showing the property boundaries clearly edged in red. In order to avoid delays two plans must accompany every submission unless the search is on a new development where the developer has lodged a plan with the Authority. Also, at Boxes B and C of the Con29, road names must be stated.

For the years 1999 to 2009 we returned 100% of searches within 10 working days. Our local target for returning searches is within 5 working days. Our average turn around time is 2 to 3 working days.

Charges for Search and Enquiry Service

As Runnymede Borough Council is no longer the agent for the Highways Authority, Surrey County Council, the Highways questions on the search forms are now being dealt with by Surrey Council Council Highways Information Team who are levying an additional fee per search. This extra fee is included in Runnymede's fees.

Additional Enquiries - the County Council will only answer additional enquiries (enquiries not printed on the CON Forms) submitted directly to them. Please call them for their current fees on 0208 541 8924.

 

Runnymede offer a full electronic search service, with replies on line via the National Land Information Service (NLIS). For the price of an NLIS search please contact one of the NLIS channels (shown below).

NLIS - is a joint initiative between central and local government to provide an on-line one-stop-shop that will deliver publicly available land and property related information. It will bring together information currently held by many different organisations, including information by this local authority. One of the first practical benefits of NLIS is the availability of local land charges search services. Three commercial companies have been awarded NLIS Channel licenses to market this service.

Personal Searches

Please email details of your search address and a clear location/site plan through to the Land Charges email (land.charges@runnymede.gov.uk). This will then be acknowledged and a day for inspection of the results will be given. All Personal Searches are booked in and dealt with in strict order of receipt. Report to the main Reception desk to request the Personal Search results for inspection and then return the documentation before you leave the offices.
