It is understood that Surrey Waste Management Ltd intends to submit a planning application in the summer for an energy from waste facility (incinerator) on land adjacent to Trumps Farm, Kitsmead Lane, Longcross.

There was a recent public exhibition of the proposals and details are still available for viewing at www.surreywaste.co.uk/efw/trumpsfarm/

Any planning application will be submitted to and determined by Surrey County Council who is the planning authority for waste matters.

If residents of Runnymede wish to formally register a representation on the planning application, they will need to address this to Surrey County Council after the application is submitted.

Councillor Furey, Leader of the Council, said

'Runnymede Borough Council objected to this development at the Examination into the Surrey Waste Plan which has now been adopted by Surrey County Council. Runnymede is seeking Counsel's opinion regarding a potential High Court challenge to this, but no formal decision has yet been made.'
