Planning Enforcement Runnymede Borough Council's Planning Enforcement Section seeks to deal with all reported breaches of planning control (that is to say, all instances where something requiring planning permission has taken place, without permission being obtained).
Changes to planning system from October 2008
Do I need planning permission? If you want to know if planning permission is required to extend or alter your property please could you complete one of the following forms:
Form A - for proposed extensions to houses and new outbuildings
Form B – for loft conversions and roof alterations to houses
Form C – for driveways and hardstandings
The completed form should be returned to the Development Control section at Runnymede Borough Council or sent via email to development.control@runnymede.gov.uk. Your proposal will then be assessed and you will be advised as to whether your proposal does or does not require planning permission.

The Development Control Charter The Council has a statutory duty to process both applications and appeals for which it is the Planning Authority and this includes not only planning applications, but matters relating to Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas; trees; advertisements; and Certificates of Lawfulness. The Council has a statutory duty to investigate planning enforcement complaints, but has sole discretion as to whether to instigate formal enforcement action in each case.
