Street trading licences

The Council is responsible for the monitoring and regulation of street traders to ensure that trading only takes place under proper licence.

Whilst trading on private land does not need to be licensed (although other controls such as the potential for planning permission need to be considered) within Runnymede, there are only a small number of licensed streets where applications from individual traders might be considered. These are Bishopsgate Road, Englefield Green (two locations), The Broadway, New Haw and Delta Way, Thorpe.

In addition, there is a farmer’s market in the High Street, Egham on the third Saturday in each month (except December), and a charter market in Chertsey every Saturday.

If you wish to receive information about applying for a street trading license, please contact AllCommitteeStaff@runnymede.gov.uk

If you wish to report unlicensed street trading, please contact Development.Control@runnymede.gov.uk

If you have bought an unsatisfactory product, for further information please contact www.consumerdirect.gov.uk or telephone 08454 04 05 06. Alternatively, contact Surrey County Council Trading Standards on 08456 009 009.
