Biography:
John Edwards was born in 1948 and brought up in North Wales. After graduating from Nottingham University, he found employment in Surrey, where he met his wife Carolyn. Moved to Essex and served as a Member of Thurrock B.C. for seven years. Then he moved to Addlestone where he has lived ever since. He was first elected to Runnymede for Addlestone Bourneside in a by-election in 1983. Subsequently he has represented Addlestone St.Paul's and currently is one of the councillors for Chertsey South and Rowtown. Over the years he has held many positions within the Council (and the Conservative Party).
He worked for many years as a Materials Scientist, concluding his full time employment as European Applications Manager for a specialist materials supplier. Now semi-retired, his outside interests include travel and making a fuss of his grand-children.
