The Finance Department provides a range of financial support services to the Council and is responsible for all Benefits work, the delivery of the Council's Procurement Strategy, the collection of sundry debts, Income Services and the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates. The Corporate Head of Finance leads the Department and is responsible for the management and the smooth running of the finances of the Council.
The Department is divided into three main divisions, all based at the Civic Offices in Addlestone:-

We provide a full range of mainstream accounting and financial services to the Council and to service managers, including the production of the statement of accounts and annual budget, financial reporting, financial advice, ledger and accounts maintenance, financial systems, treasury management and stewardship matters. We also carry out payroll, pay all invoices and carry out various administrative tasks.
We collect Council Tax, Business Rates and other income and we administer the Benefits system for people who need help with paying their rent and/or Council Tax.
We provide advice on procurement and contractual matters for all departments within the Council. In addition, we purchase a range of commonly required goods and services for everyday use.
Internal Audit and Insurance is managed directly by the Chief Executive.
