This Business Plan is an important document and performs the following functions -

• It is a long-term plan for managing the authority's housing assets and financing the necessary investments
• It is a key element in ensuring the effective long-term management and maintenance of the council housing stock
• It supplements and is consistent with the authority's wider objectives for housing set out in the Housing Strategy
• It shows how the Council intends to manage its housing (HRA) assets in the context of stock condition, demand for social housing and the likely availability of resources

This plan was a first produced in 2001 and is updated annually. In 2003 it has been revised to reflect tenant involvement on areas of priority and the additional information obtained from further stock condition survey inspections.
