Biography: 

Linda has lived in Thorpe for 30 years with her husband and family. She was first elected as an Independent Councillor for Thorpe Ward in 2000 and has served on the planning and Leisure and Environment Committees. Linda now represents the Independents on the Corporate Management Committee and Review Board. She is particularly interested in protecting the environment from gravel extraction and landfill and is interested in the effects of climate change such as flooding and the water table.

Linda is the Bursar of Thorpe Nursery Pre School and a Local Authority Governor at Thorpe C of E Infant School and St Ann's Heath Junior school.

For the last two years she has been one of 24 councillors representing the UK on the Committee of the Regions in Europe. This is a body that looks at proposed EU legislation and comments on the future impact it will have on Local Authorities. Here too Linda sits on the Environmental committee.
