Runnymede Borough Council is an excellent council and is making plans to improve further.

The council has a track record of delivering a wide range of high quality services and has the second highest level of citizens' satisfaction in the country.

It has the lowest council tax of shire councils in England while their spending per head of population on services is the highest within the county. 6 Not only are services generally of a high standard, but they are also improving.

The council identifies its weaker performing services and targets extra efforts at improving them. It also responds well to improving services in line with national and local priorities. It uses its own money and secures external funding to help it achieve this.

Investment in the organisation's and the community's infrastructure that support service delivery also helps the council to get the most out of its services.
