1 APP is coming
The biggest change to the planning system in years.
The Government is introducing 1APP, a standard application form which will shortly replace all types of planning application forms throughout England. From 1st October 2007 the only legal way of submitting a planning application anywhere in England will be by using a 1APP form. The aim of the new form is to standardise and streamline the planning application process. It will replace authorities own application forms which can differ in style, content and the information required.
The 1APP form will be made available in both paper format and online via the Planning Portal. The online form will intelligently determine the planning consent type required and appropriately tailor its questions to the circumstances of the application. There are likely to be significant benefits to the applicant and the Council from using the online version of the form. As such, we will be recommending that applicants and agents, particularly those making multiple applications, use the online form.
The new 1APP forms will shortly be available on the Councils website. In August 2007 the old planning application forms will be removed from the website. If you are intending to make an application in September 2007 it is suggested that you use the new 1APP forms prior to the 1 October deadline.
Runnymede will also shortly be issuing validation guidance to be submitted with different types of application.
We will publish more information on timescale once they are available, in the meantime please contact the Planning Portal www.planningportal.gov.uk for more information or with any queries.
