PARTNERSHIP FOR RUNNYMEDE - Local Strategic Partnership

Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) bring together at a local level key organisations and people from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to deliver improved public services for communities (see the Department for Communities and Local Government website for more information).

In 2002, following consultation with local partners and the local community, Runnymede Borough Council developed a Community Strategy containing the key concerns, aspirations and priorities of residents, community and voluntary groups, statutory organisations and businesses in the area.  Runnymede's LSP, the Partnership for Runnymede, is collectively charged with the delivery of the priorities as laid out in this Community Strategy, and the Partnership's core task is to monitor progress and to keep the strategy and targets updated.

The partnership operates at a level which enables strategic decisions to be taken in close relation to the neighbourhoods and localities of communities, and allows representatives from the public, private and community sector to work together, avoiding duplication of effort.  By bringing together existing plans, strategies and partnerships to provide a forum in which to work together,  the Partnership for Runnymede can ensure the Community Strategy is delivered as efficiently as possible.

The Partnership is chaired by Cllr John Furey and meets four times a year.  The meetings are scheduled in 2008 for 10 March, 2 June, 8 September and 8 December.

The Partnership for Runnymede is served by a set of Task Groups that focus on delivering particular aspects of the Community Strategy.  Below is a diagram showing the structure of the LSP and Task Groups.  To find our more about the work of the Partnership and Task Groups please click on the relevant group on the diagram.
