PARTNERSHIP FOR RUNNYMEDE - Local Strategic Partnership

The Partnership for Runnymede, led by Runnymede Borough Council, is an umbrella group that brings together key local partnerships, people, and organisations from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors to help improve quality of life for all in Runnymede.

Formed in 2002 the Partnership has already achieved a great deal for the borough, including increasing support for vulnerable older people, tackling traffic congestion, and reducing the fear of crime.

From 2009, the Partnership for Runnymede has committed to delivering the Council's sustainable community strategy,  Making a Difference (PDF). Making a Difference sets out the Council and partners' common long term ambitions for the borough - to shape a Runnymede of Healthier and Safer Communities, and of Prosperous Communities.

The Partnership for Runnymede is served by a set of task groups - formed of community representatives and people with specific expertise - that focus on delivering particular aspects of Making a Difference.

Each task group has published an action plan, which demonstrates how the Partnership will deliver against the community's priorities in the next few years. Task group action plans are working documents, used to monitor progress against specific targets, and are reported to the Partnership for Runnymede every three months. To view the task groups' action plans, please follow the links below.

The Partnership is chaired by Cllr John Furey, Leader of Runnymede Borough Council, and meets four times a year. The meetings are scheduled in 2009/10 for 8 June 2009, 12 October 2009, 11 January 2010, and 19 April 2010.

The following organisations are represented on the Partnership for Runnymede: Runnymede Borough Council, Surrey Police, Chertsey Society, Runnymede Association of Voluntary Services, Surrey County Council, Strode's College, Runnymede Rentstart, Surrey Primary Care Trust, Surrey Wildlife Trust, Runnymede Arts Society, and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
