Duty planner

Duty Planner
A Duty Planner is available to give general guidance and advice on, for example:

  • explanation of planning applications
  • householder extensions and alterations (but not specific permitted development queries)
  • shop fronts
  • minor alterations or extensions to commercial property
  • advertisements
  • general guidance on the Council's policies and standards

No appointment is necessary to see the Duty Planner but normally no more than 10 to 15 minutes is available for each enquiry. A Duty Planner is available at the following times:

Monday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm
Tuesday 8.30 am to 1 pm
Wednesday 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm
Thursday 8.30 am to 1 pm
Friday 8.30 am to 4.00 pm

The Duty Planning Officer will not be able to assist with any pre-application queries apart from minor householder extensions and alterations. All other pre-application queries will be dealt with in the first instance by letter and will be subject to a fee.
