Runnymede Borough Council Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) 2014 - Call for suitable housing sites
The Council is currently carrying out a Call for Sites as part of its 2014 Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).
The NPPF requires Local Authorities to prepare a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment to establish realistic assumptions about the availability, suitability and the likely economic viability of land to meet the identified need for housing over the plan period. For this reason, we are inviting the public and site owners to put forward sites that may be appropriate for housing development between now and 2028.
Sites that could be considered for Gypsy & Traveller pitches can also be submitted through this questionnaire.
This call for sites will run from Monday 24 February- 5pm on Monday 17 March 2014. This is the cut off date and time for site submissions to be considered as part of the 2014 SHLAA.
Suggested sites should meet the following criteria:
- The site should be available for development anytime between now and 2028 (if not available immediately please state when).
- The site should be capable of accommodating at least 4 housing units or at least 1 traveller pitch/plot.
Please visit our online questionnaire to provide the information on your site. Further instructions are provided on the online form.
Whilst the Council’s online form is the preferred method of submission, hard copy submissions can be posted to the Policy and Strategy team at the following address:
Runnymede Borough Council
Alternatively, submissions can be emailed electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org
Previously identified sites
We are already aware of certain sites and in such instances we do not require further information unless there has been a change in ownership or circumstance, but we would still ask you to fill in the online questionnaire to indicate that the site is still available.
All current SHLAA sites can be viewed on our interactive map.
Please note that the SHLAA itself will not determine whether a site will be allocated for housing development. The SHLAA process simply assesses all sites that may have some potential for housing development at some point in the future and attempts to make as accurate an estimate as possible of future housing supply based on this information. Any conclusions reached in the assessment will be made without prejudice to the determination of any subsequent planning applications in respect of sites assessed.
