Welcome to the Runnymede Local Plan Consultation page. We are currently consulting on the Pre-submission version of the Local Plan and would like to hear your views. Please note that this consultation will last for six weeks from Thursday 14 February to Thursday 28 March 2013.
Local Plan Core Strategy – Pre Submission Document
The Core Strategy is the foundation of the Borough's Local Plan and it sets out the overall ambitions and priorities for the Borough, a set of strategic and locational policies, and a means of ensuring that they are delivered. It covers the period to 2026, which is consistent with the Regional Spatial Strategy, the South East Plan, although this plan is due to be abolished during the lifetime of the Council's Local Plan.
Responses to previous consultations have been used to help develop a Draft Submission version of the Local Plan Core Strategy. In preparation for the submission of the Local Plan Core Strategy for examination to the Secretary of State, the Council is undertaking a further consultation in accordance with its adopted Statement of Community Involvement and Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning)(England) Regulations 2012.
The draft document and the proposed changes to the proposals map are available for viewing below together with a link to the online consultation questionnaire, and background documents. A hard copy and CD of all the key documents are also available to view in all the libraries in the Borough, at Staines, Bagshot and Sunninghill Libraries and at the Civic Centre offices.
At this stage we are concerned primarily with the 'soundness' of the plan and its legal compliance although you may make other comments on the content. Comments received at this stage may not result in changes to the document but they will be recorded and considered alongside the Local Plan at the Examination.
You can comment on the draft Local Plan Core Strategy by completing the online questionnaire below. Or by downloading a comments form which is also available below. Completed forms should be returned to us, preferably by e-mail attachment, to LDF@runnymede.gov.uk or by post to Policy and Implementation, Technical Services, at the Civic Centre address.
All comments received by 28 March 2013 will be reported to the Council’s Planning Committee and subsequently to Full Council, followed by formal submission to the Secretary of State.
