No Recycling mountain in Runnymede
Despite the current difficult economic climate and reports of some councils struggling to find outlets for their recyclable material, Runnymede Borough Council has not had problems selling on its recyclables. Recycled material in Runnymede is separated when it is collected which means that the quality is very good and easier to sell in the marketplace.

Runnymede Borough Council operates three recycling schemes:
Kerbside 'sort' collection from residents' homes
'Bring' scheme at supermarket and council car parks.
Green Garden waste Collection Service
In all three schemes high quality, high value materials are produced which simply need bulking up at waste transfer stations.
None of the recyclable materials collected by Runnymede are sent to Material Reclamation Facilities (MRFs) for sorting and sending abroad to countries such as China or India.
