RENEWAL UPDATE FOR GARDEN WASTE

Apologies for lateness of the renewal letter that runs from April 2009 to March 2010

The renewal letters for the garden waste collection service for April 2010 to March 2011 will be going out shortly, so please continue to put your bags/bins out for normal collection.

From Monday 5th October 2009 you may be asked to prove you live in one of Surrey's 11 districts or boroughs, at your local Community Recycling Centre/tip.

NEW - Green Waste Wheeled Bins

Cheaper wheelies

Save yourself the bother of taking your waste to the Recycling Centres, waiting in queues, cleaning the car afterwards, by subscribing to Runnymede Borough Council's Green Waste Collection Scheme. Subscribers are provided with green bags or 240L green wheeled bins which are emptied every two weeks.

Wheeled bins must be purchased separately at £34 and therefore are yours to keep. See below the annual charge to have the bin/bags emptied.

Try to do this by using the 3R's and always look for products made from recycled materials.

Create less waste: avoid over-packaged products
RE-USE
Remember that buying re-usable and refillable products can save you money
RECYCLE
Try to recycle as much as possible - glass, aluminium and steel cans, paper, cardboard, plastics and textiles. Only collect materials that can be recycled in your area.
