Properties within the Garden Waste scheme area have been prohibited from disposing of their garden waste in their domestic bins and were advised to use other methods of disposal such as using a composter, taking the green waste to a local household waste site for composting, or to join the kerbside green waste collection scheme. The collection scheme costs £40 per annum for 3 sturdy, reinforced bags, which are emptied on a fortnightly basis. How early in the morning should I put my garden bags out?
The garden waste collection service starts collecting from 6.30am, unless otherwise specified. To ensure your garden waste is collected you will need to have your bag out before this time.
Where should I leave my garden bag on collection day?
Your garden waste bags must be left at the boundary of your property, or, at a common point agreed directly with the council. After collection the bags will be returned to the same position.
What about elderly, infirm or disabled people?
Residents can request an assisted collection by contacting the Runnymede Recycling Hotline on 0800 052 0067. A member of staff may visit and assess the circumstances.
The collection scheme costs £40 per annum for 3 sturdy, reinforced bags, which are emptied on a fortnightly basis. If you require any more bags there is an additional charge of £10 per bag. You may purchase as many bags as you want.
If I put out extra garden waste will it be collected if I am on the scheme?
Unless the garden waste is put out in one of Runnymede Borough Council's garden waste bags, extra garden waste will not be collected. If you regularly produce excess garden waste then please contact the Runnymede Recycling Hotline on 0800 0520067 so arrangements can be made for you to purchase another garden bag.

What happens if my garden bags/vouchers are damaged, lost or stolen?
If a bag/voucher is damaged, lost or stolen the council will provide a replacement bags/vouchers free of charge. Please contact the Runnymede Recycling Hotline to obtain a new bag on 0800 052 0067.
