Green Garden Waste

Since February 2007 residents of Runnymede Borough Council have been prohibited from disposing of their green garden waste in their wheeled bins.

Options for the disposal of green waste are:-

  1. Compost as much of your garden waste as you can. Phone Recyclenow on 0845 077 0757 for information on bargain priced composters, or visit their website on www.recyclenow.com/compost for further details.
  2. Take your green garden waste to one of the local Community Recycling Centres. The two closest sites are in Lyne Lane Lyne, Chertsey, KT16 0RA and Martyrs Lane, Woking, GU21 5NJ.

    Opening Hours

    Winter (1 October to 31 March)

    Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.15 pm
    Weekends from 9.00 am to 4.15 pm

    Summer (1 April to 30 September)

    Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 5.15 pm
    Weekends from 9.00 am to 4.45 pm

    Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day
  3. Save yourself the bother of taking your waste to the Recycling Centres, waiting in queues, cleaning the car afterwards, by subscribing to Runnymede Borough Council's green waste collection scheme. From 1st April 2009, it costs £20 for one bag, £35 for two bags, £40 for three on a pro-rata basis. Find out when your Recycling day is
  4. Garden waste payments
    If you would like to pay for garden waste (sundry debtors) please visit the following link - pay for your garden waste.

    Please have an invoice number ready which is found on your letter, which begins with the number 4.
