The Partnership for Runnymede is the borough's Local Strategic Partnership. It is an umbrella group for agencies, organisations and partnerships within the borough, working together to improve the quality of life for all in Runnymede. It exists to help Runnymede think and speak with a single voice and to be clear about strategic priorities for the borough.
All partners are committed to the Making a Difference strategy, which sets out our long-term ambitions for the borough - to shape a Runnymede of Healthier and Safer Communities, and Prosperous Communities. For more information on how we will make a difference in Runnymede, please visit the Making a Difference section.
Formed in 2002, the Partnership has already achieved a great deal for the borough, including tackling traffic congestion, reducing fear of crime, and supporting vulnerable older people. More details of our achievements can be found in the Partnership achievements section.
The Partnership is chaired by Cllr John Furey, Leader of Runnymede Borough Council, and meets four times a year.
Dates and agendas for meetings in 2009/10.
Delivering the Making a Difference strategy
The Partnership for Runnymede is responsible for developing the borough's Sustainable Community Strategy. Making a Difference was published in 2009 to meet that duty.
The Partnership is served by a set of task groups that focus on delivering particular aspects of the Making a Difference strategy. Each task group is committed to an action plan demonstrating how we will deliver against your local priorities in the next few years.
Four of these action plans are being delivered by existing local partnerships - the Single Group for Young People, the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, the Community Learning Partnership and Runnymede Business Partnership - which report to the Partnership for Runnymede. The remaining four action plans are being delivered by a set of task groups that were established by the Partnership for Runnymede.
Working with Surrey Partners
The Partnership for Runnymede also works with Surrey councils and other organisations to help deliver Standing up for Surrey, the county-wide Surrey Partnership Plan. For more information, visit the Surrey Community Planning website.
