Museum Monkeys
Come and meet Charlie the chimp at Chertsey Museum.
Museum Monkeys meets on a Friday morning once a month for singing, stories, arts and craft as well as a drink and biscuit.
Activities are aimed at under 5s with parental involvement required!
Doors open at 9.30am for a fun and fabulous museum experience!
Cost: £4:50 per child, additional sibling £2 (1 to 5 year olds)
Brothers and sisters under 1 are free.

Creative craft for adults
These tutor-led sessions offer a relaxed environment for adults to have fun with fabric in good company and with refreshments! Learn how to quilt or weave, embroider or stencil - all materials provided.

An annual after hours celebration!
This year, to tie in with our exhibition on Thomas Holloway and our NEW display on the history of St. Peter’s Hospital, we are giving visitors the chance to make their own Victorian cure-all, a medicinal potion based on Holloway’s famous ointment.
The event is FREE but booking is essential to ensure adequate ingredients!

Do you know your Zeus from your Mercury? Find out about the classical Gods and Goddess, what they were in charge of, and what myths and legends surrounded them. Then create your own cartoon of a myth or legend.

Refashioning the Past
10.45am to 12.30pm
Historical Costumier Louise Taylor, winner of the 2011 Patterns of Fashion Award, will give a talk illustrated with her own work and items from the Olive Matthews Collection. Louise will explore the complex construction techniques required to reproduce accurately not only historic gowns but also suitable undergarments to wear beneath them.

It’s time again for our annual mock excavation– this time with a Stone age theme! Meet at the museum first, be prepared come rain, wind or shine—we will battle the elements to get the job done! What will we find from the stone age? Did they have metal?

Friends day trip to Smallhythe Place and Hastings
Following the excellent talk on Ellen Terry given at the museum by Veronica Isaac, our Keeper of Costume, we now have the chance to visit the actress's former home and to see items from Smallhythe's costume collection, not normally on show to the public. We will also have a private guided tour of Smallhythe Place. Then, we will set off for the seaside to spend the afternoon at your own leisure in Hastings.
The coach will depart Chertsey Museum at 9am, and depart Hastings at 4.45pm.
Cost: £17
